Goldstein Theme Day

Earlier this week, BSC celebrated Goldstein Theme Day by shining a spotlight on the theme of Sport. The day was a fantastic opportunity for our community to come together, highlight the achievements of Australian sportswomen and sportsmen, share our own sporting teams, and enjoy a range of activities that mixed fun, competition, and creativity.

The highly anticipated staff vs students netball match broughta raucous crowd together at the gym. Both teams brought plenty of energy, skill, and good-spirited rivalry to the court. While the staff showed determination, the students dominated from the start, working seamlessly together in attack and defence. Their quick passes, sharp shooting, and relentless teamwork proved too much for the teachers (mainly Mr Chalk), with the final score a convincing 17–7 win to the students.

A Blooket quiz on famous Australian sportswomenwas also held in the library. Students tested their knowledge of champions past and present, with the friendly competition creating plenty of laughs and learning moments, as well as reminding everyone of the incredible impact women have had across different sporting codes.

Meanwhile, the Food Tech kitchen was buzzing with cupcake decorating, another hugely popular activity. Students showed off their creative flair with icing, sprinkles, and lollies – though the sweet treats didn’t last long, snapped up almost as soon as they were finished.

Did you miss out on cupcake decorating? Don't worry, Ms Inglese is hosting a Cupcake Masterclass on Friday, September 5 for Arts Week! Keep an eye out for more information during the week.
