Valuable Industry Experience

Earlier this term, our Year 10 students stepped out of the classroom and into the workforce as part of the Work Experience Program. This valuable opportunity gave students a first-hand taste of different industries, helping them explore career pathways, develop workplace skills, and gain insights into the world beyond our school gate.

The range of placements was impressive, with students taking on roles in schools, universities, sports clubs, law firms, veterinary clinics, trade industries, offices, retail environments and much more, discovering what day-to-day life looks like in these fields.

Many students commented on how much they enjoyed the chance to apply their skills in real situations, while also learning more about teamwork, independence, and problem-solving. Teachers and employers also praised the students for their positive attitudes, willingness to learn, and the maturity they demonstrated in unfamiliar settings.

Overall, the program was a resounding success, giving students an invaluable stepping stone towards their future pathways. We are incredibly proud of the way our Year 10s embraced the challenge and represented BSC in workplaces across our community.
