A busy semester in VCD

Senior Visual Communication & Design

It’s been an exciting and productive semester for our Senior Visual Communication Design students!

Our Year 12's kicked off the semester with a trip to the Melbourne Museum, where they visited the Top Designs exhibition. This annual showcase of outstanding student work provided plenty of inspiration, giving our students the chance to see the standard of design excellence across Victoria and sparking fresh ideas for their own folios.

Back in the classroom, both Year 11 and 12 students have been actively involved in design critique sessions, presenting their developing concepts and giving constructive feedback to one another. These sessions are an essential part of the design process – helping students refine and strengthen their work while building the collaborative skills they’ll need in both VCE assessments and in future creative workplaces.

The folios themselves are as diverse as they are imaginative. Students have been tackling real-world design problems and developing innovative solutions that showcase their creativity and technical skills. Current projects include café environmental models, guitar prototypes, stage set designs, and more, each reflecting the individuality, passion, and design thinking of our talented students.

It has been inspiring to see their growth as designers this semester, and we look forward to seeing their final folios come to life later in the year.
