A Place of Belonging

Thank you for a wonderful term which has been jam-packed with activities, sport, assessments and block exams. Well done to our boarders for their dedication to their studies and thank you to our staff for their support and dedication to our boarders.

I will be departing for annual leave on Saturday 13 June and returning on Monday 6 July.  Please contact our Assistant Director of Boarding, Tina Mills, in my absence, or Christine Miller throughout the day at boarding@clayfield.qld.edu.au.

Staffing Update

This weekend we will say goodbye to long term Boarding Assistants, Ms Ngaire and Ms Leah, who have dedicated their weekends to driving the boarders to all food destinations and accompanied them on weekend activities. We will miss them!

Friends of Boarding

Thank you to our parents and carers who joined us on Tuesday evening for the end of term Friends of Boarding meeting.

End of Term

The last Prep session for the term will be Thursday evening with end of term packing commencing on the weekend.

Over the holiday break, we will host several schools who are participating in the Confraternity Cup in the second week of the break. This means all boarders are to pack up and vacate their rooms.

A reminder that the Boarding House will close at 4:00pm on Friday 19 June and re-open at 8:30am on Monday 13 July, ahead of Term 3 which starts on Tuesday 14 July.

Term 3 Transportation

If your child requires transportation outside of school hours in Term 3, please complete the Boarder Transport Application Form as soon as possible. Priority driving details are outlined on this form.

As we have QGSSSA Winter Fixtures training and games being played on Saturday during Term 3, we may not be able to fulfil all requests.

Boarding Events and Celebrations

On Saturday evening we welcomed boarders in Years 7 to 9 from St Margaret’s, Somerville House, BBC, Ipswich Grammar School, Ipswich Girls’ Grammar School and Marist Brothers Ashgrove for our annual Retro Disco. The night was led by our Year 10 to 12 boarders in dance and connection and all got involved and had a great night.

We were then up at the crack of dawn on Sunday to supervise a water station and cheer on runners in the Brisbane Marathon.
