Foundation

Students have been exploring Indigenous stories and artwork. Students have used a variety of ways to apply paint and use line and pattern to create their Indigenous inspired lizards and backgrounds.

Grades 1 and 2

Students created a bowl of spring flowers. Students created the flowers by tearing pieces of paper into a circle shape. Three circle shapes were needed to create one flower. Stems and leaves will be added this week to complete the artwork.

Grades 3 and 4

Students have been exploring textiles by using macrame.

Students made a simple macrame person using a wooden bead as a head.  Skills over the past few lessons were revisited to create the macrame person.

These will be completed soon.

Grades 5 and 6

Students have been looking at the Ned Kelly series of paintings by Sidney Nolan.

The artwork 'Ned Kelly' painted in 1946 has been the focus of the art lessons. Students discussed the importance of the subject of the painting. Students were inspired by the work of Sidney Nolan to create their own Ned Kelly artwork.
