Green Team Update

Mr Eddington - STEAM Teacher

We started off with some rainy weather but now with some breaks in the rain the Green Team has been back in action, doing some hard work to keep our school clean and green.

Over the last few weeks students have been removing weeds from the different areas of the school grounds, with some Prep students also gloving up to help up!. Additionally, Green team members (& Chris) planted some native grasses out the front of the school to improve the soil quality.

YNWA Excursion

On Thursday, the 28th of May, The Sustainability leaders and the Green Team made their way out to the Yakulit Willem Nature Reserve for an afternoon to learn about biodiversity in Elsternwick. While there, we learnt from Gio who taught us about the wildlife which live in our local area. We spotted some Tawny Frogmouths, tasted some mistletoe berries and collected Acacia seeds to be grown at the reserve. We also learnt that there are sugar gliders in the reserve which could visit EPS if we created suitable habitat for them.
