This term, our students engaged in wellbeing learning to support the development of a growth mindset and build strategies to cope and thrive. This included lessons from topic 4 - Problem Solving and topic 6 - Help Seeking of the Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships (RRRR) curriculum. To support this learning, students used the Catastrophe Scale to explore the size of the problem and the tools they have to solve it. The language of ‘size of the problem’ and ‘positive coping strategies’ is used consistently throughout year levels. Students also reflected on and identified trusted adults both at school and outside of school. These trusted adults are people students feel comfortable seeking help from when a problem is too big for them to manage on their own.

Each year level participated in an Inform and Empower webinar focused on developing healthy digital habits. A key concept explored was balancing screen time and ‘green time’. Students reflected on their use of technology and the emotions they experience when engaging online. Sexuality and Consent Education was introduced in Term 2, with students learning about body parts, body changes, body safety and consent in age appropriate ways. Throughout the year, all students will create a pledge to be courageous against appearance related teasing as part of the Butterfly Body Bright program. This program promotes positive peer interactions and empowers students to feel confident and capable in their own bodies. Students also celebrated IDAHOBIT and Neurodiversity Week, promoting respect, inclusion and belonging for all.

The Green Zone has continued to be a hive of calm and positive activity during recess and lunchtime. Students have enjoyed the structured, quiet space and the opportunity to connect with students from other classes.
