Term 1 2026 Specialist Awards

We would like to congratulate all of our Semester One 2026 Specialist Award recipients!

These students have consistently demonstrated the EPS values through their effort, attitude and commitment to learning within our specialist programs. Whether creating, performing, problem-solving or participating in physical activity, each student has embraced challenges, contributed positively to their classes and served as a role model for their peers.

 

The Specialist Team is incredibly proud of the enthusiasm, resilience and dedication shown by these students throughout Semester One. Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition and thank you for the positive contribution you make to our specialist learning areas.

Prep C Niko - Niko has had a fantastic term 2. His attitude to learning has been exemplary and he has made excellent progress in all subjects. He sets the standard for the other children to reach academically. Niko has made an enormous effort to be part of the Prep C community, making friends, working with others and being part of the class. We are so proud of him and that he is part of Prep C. Well done, Niko!

 

1B Bella - Bella never misses a thing. She listens so carefully during class discussions that she always seems to know exactly what the important takeaway is. When it's time to share her thinking, she has a real talent for summarising our learning and class conversations, and her attention to detail is second to none. Her insightful thinking, articulate communication, and commitment to excellence make her a very deserving recipient of this award. Congratulations, Bella! 

 

2C Jack R - Jack has shown wonderful Personal Excellence through his resilience and persistence when faced with challenges. He has learnt that mistakes are part of learning and continues to complete tasks even when they are tricky. Jack should be proud of the way he is exploring strategies that help him learn best. Well done, Jack! 

 

3/4A Jemima R - Jemima has had such a wonderful start to the year, showing personal excellence in all areas of her learning. She is becoming a real risk taker in class, always asks questions and wants to achieve her best. She uses her fantastic creativity and imagination well, striving to listen and learn no matter what the subject area or how challenging. Jemima is a positive and supportive classmate, and works well with all of her peers. Well done Jemima - keep up the great work!

 

4B - Capri T - Capri has had a wonderful start to the term showing fantastic dedication and persistence in all areas of her learning. She consistently gives every task her best effort and approaches challenges with a positive attitude and willingness to learn. Capri is becoming more confident in class discussions and always stays focused during her learning. Her hardworking attitude and determination to “have a go” at everything she does is a wonderful example of personal excellence.

5A Poppy G - This student has shown personal excellence through their insightful and extensive research into the life of Lowitja O’Donoghue as part of their chosen biography. 

 

They approach every challenge with a positive attitude and always try their best. This person leads by example and encourages those around her to do the same.

6A Triton A - Triton is a kind, caring and funny member of 6A who consistently demonstrates all of the school values through the way he treats others and approaches his learning.

 

He leads by example and helps create a positive classroom environment that makes learning enjoyable for those around him.

Principal's Award

6B Polly J - For being an active and positive member of our school community and continually striving to make it a better place. Polly is caring, compassionate and consistently demonstrates honesty and integrity. She inspires others by setting an excellent example, celebrating the successes of those around her and building genuine, positive relationships. Polly treats everyone with respect and thoughtfully considers how her actions impact others, making her a wonderful role model for our school community. Congratulations, Polly. This recognition is so well deserved.

Responsibility 

 

2B Billy G - Billy has made a great start to Year 2 and has shown strong responsibility in the classroom. He comes in each day and settles straight into his morning work, showing a positive attitude to learning. He is becoming a more confident and independent learner each day. Fantastic work Billy!

 

English 

 

Prep D Darcy F - Darcy is an enthusiastic and passionate literacy learner. In reading, Darcy uses strategies to solve unknown words and has been developing his reading fluency. In writing, Darcy uses lower case letters, sits letters on the baseline and uses his knowledge of letters and sounds to write words. Recently, Darcy wrote an amazing recount about his weekend, including lots of wonderful details. Well done Darcy on an amazing first semester, keep up the great work!

 

1B Aurora - Aurora has emerged as a writer who always puts great thought and care into her work. Whether she is writing a story or completing a class task, she challenges herself to add detail, make her writing interesting, and do her very best. Aurora is also an outstanding speller. She doesn't just rely on words she already knows—she uses her knowledge of sounds and spelling patterns to work out unfamiliar words independently. A great example of this was when she correctly spelled guitar after learning about the /g/ sound. Aurora's enthusiasm for learning and determination to challenge herself have helped her achieve outstanding success in Literacy this semester. 

 

2A Indi F - Indi has shown wonderful creativity and care during Writing lessons. She takes her time with her handwriting, carefully forming letters on the correct lines and presenting her work neatly. Indi always comes up with imaginative story ideas, even creating and sharing her own book about a ghost. Well done on your fantastic effort in Writing! 

 

3A Charlotte K - Charlotte has shown fantastic effort and engagement in English, particularly during our reading sessions. She consistently immerses herself in texts, demonstrating a genuine love of reading. Charlotte has developed strong, healthy reading habits and thoughtfully selects books that support her growth and challenge her thinking. Her commitment to improving her skills and her positive attitude towards reading have been wonderful to see. Well done, Charlotte! 

 

4A Angus T - Angus is a deserving recipient of the English award this term. He has demonstrated insightful comprehension skills in reading by identifying an author’s message and interpreting meaning beyond the text. In writing, his persuasive text exploring the value of homework showed strong reasoning and clear arguments, while his historical fiction narrative about the First Fleet combines historical facts with imaginative storytelling. Keep up the great work and perseverance throughout all learning tasks, Angus.

 

5B Liam P - For showing engagement and determination in completing his biography to the best of his ability. Liam approached the in-class research with a positive attitude and worked hard to develop his paraphrasing skills. Liam should be very proud of the biography he produced. 

Well done, Liam!

 

6B Adam D - Adam dedicated himself to researching Archie Roach to develop a deeper understanding of his life. He worked thoughtfully to take notes and transform his research into a well-structured and engaging biography. Adam should be proud of the effort he put into presenting his ideas clearly and effectively. It was a pleasure to read your biography! 

Well done, Adam!

 

Maths 

Prep A Jasper D - Jasper is an outstanding student who shows all our school values every day at school. This term he has taken on challenges in mathematics with enthusiasm. Jasper demonstrates an excellent understanding of numbers 1-20 and beyond and embraces mistakes as a way to extend his learning, sometimes even finding and correcting them himself! Congratulations on all your effort Jasper! We can’t wait to see what you achieve in Semester 2.

 

1C Max C - Max has made an excellent start this year in our mathematics sessions. He is consistently willing to challenge himself and strives to have neat and legible bookwork to demonstrate his thinking. Max is a wonderful member of our maths class who is always resourceful and ready to use the right tools to support his learning. When focussing on our big idea of ‘Place Value’ Max can readily explain the patterns and logic of ten being a countable unit.

 

Keep up the fantastic effort Max!

 

2B Darcy R - Darcy has shown a strong attitude towards learning in Maths lessons this year. He challenges himself, asks thoughtful questions to deepen his understanding, and even works on his maths at home. Darcy should be proud of his efforts. Well done on being such a motivated and engaged mathematician, Darcy. 

 

3B Eva W - Eva has shown great motivation towards mathematics throughout our addition unit of work. She has figured out what works best for her, and understands when to mentally calculate an answer, and when to use a written method instead. She always pushes herself to do her best, and tries extension challenges when she has finished doing her classwork. It is fantastic to see such a hard-working and flexible mathematician in the making. Congratulations Eva!

 

4B Jemima H - Jemima has shown fantastic growth and confidence during Maths this term. She has worked incredibly hard to develop her efficient problem-solving strategies and mathematical thinking. Jemima always approaches challenges with persistence and determination, highlighting her positive attitude and confidence she brings to maths. Jemima should be very proud of the progress she has made so far this year. 

Well Done Jemima! 

 

5B Poppy L - During Maths lessons, Poppy works incredibly hard. Whether working independently or collaborating with others, she always gives her best effort. She consistently shows her working out and actively seeks feedback to improve her learning. Your hard work and dedication have not gone unnoticed. Well done, Poppy! 

 

5/6A Felix C - For demonstrating excellence in Mathematics through his growing ability to use evidence to convince others of his understanding when working with fractions, decimals, and percentages, and for developing a more consistent approach to reasoning when solving problems.

Well done, Felix – keep up the excellent work.

 

 

Curiosity

Prep B - Henry T - Henry has had a wonderful term 2 at school. He has begun approaching learning tasks with enthusiasm and has shown a particular curiosity for Maths and Spelling. In Maths, Henry is an intuitive thinker, quickly realising the purpose of a pictograph about the number of students in each class. He takes pride in his Spelling and is using his new knowledge of rhymes to write more and more words! We love having your curious brain in our class. Keep up the great thinking, Henry!

 

 

1A Maximus - Maximus is a curious learner who approaches every learning opportunity with an open mind. He asks thoughtful questions to deepen his understanding and demonstrates a keen awareness of the world around him. Maximus notices subtle details, makes interesting connections across learning areas, and confidently shares his ideas with others. His insightful contributions inspire deeper thinking and exploration within our classroom community. 

 

3A Ella M- Ella has shown wonderful curiosity and engagement during our historical fiction unit. She has developed a strong interest in her topic of the Gold Rush, completing thoughtful research to deepen her understanding and strengthen her writing. Ella demonstrates initiative by independently checking the meaning of unfamiliar words, helping her to build her vocabulary and confidence. Her eagerness to learn and explore new ideas has been fantastic to see. Well done, Ella! 

 

3/4A Charlie K - Charlie demonstrates curiosity in all areas of her learning. She has a love for school and this shows through her ability to work well with absolutely anyone in the class. She is able to show curiosity in a respectful and calm manner, making her such a pleasure to teach. Charlie I look forward to seeing you continue to blossom this year and grow as a person and learner. You are such a delight to have in 3/4A and you should be very proud of all your efforts. 

 

5/6A Owen A - For approaching our Global Studies focus on Physics and Mathematics with curiosity and an inquisitive mind, by identifying controls and variables in Light investigations, writing evidence-based hypotheses, and using evidence to justify their understanding of fractions, decimals, and percentages.

Well done, Owen – keep being curious.

 

6B Finn L - During our Global Studies unit focusing on Light and Energy, Finn shows wonderful Curiosity throughout our investigations. He confidently uses his prior knowledge to contribute thoughtful ideas during investigations. Finn approaches new concepts with an open mind and enjoys exploring how light and energy impact our lives.
