Feast of Saint Mary of the Cross MacKillop Whole School Mass 

A sincere thank you to our Year 1/2 students, Mrs Leyonhjelm and Mrs Miller, who led our whole school in a beautiful Mary MacKillop Mass through their readings, prayers, artwork and singing. It was wonderful to celebrate this special occasion with so many families and friends.

As a Josephite school, founded in 1919 by the order of nuns established by Mary MacKillop, we continue to be inspired by her faith, courage and deep commitment to those in need. The Josephite charism calls us to recognise a need and act with compassion and justice. May we carry this spirit forward in all we do at St Mary’s everyday.

Sacrament of Confirmation - Congratulations Heath, Jacob & Levi!

On Sunday 10th August, candidates from St Mary’s, St Joseph’s Crib Point and Western Port Parish received the Sacrament of Confirmation at Immaculate Conception Church. It was a truly beautiful celebration led by Father Shymon and we were incredibly lucky to have Gen Bryant and the GB Band lead us in uplifting and engaging song throughout the Mass.

The Sacrament of Confirmation consists of the renewal of baptismal promises, the laying on of hands and anointing with the oil of Chrism. The anointing of the candidate is a sign of confirming the gift of the Spirit, and calling the candidates to use these gifts in their everyday lives.

Together we prayed that the Holy Spirit continues to guide, strengthen and inspire us as we strive to serve others with love. It was a joyful celebration and we are incredibly proud of Heath, Jacob and Levi, and grateful for the loving support of our parish and school community.
