This week I am privileged to be going to my first conference as a Principal. I am attending the 2025 Australian Catholic Education Conference in Cairns. In my absence, Naomi Corfield will be Acting Principal.
Last Monday, our Prep to Year 2 students enjoyed a fantastic excursion to TwistED Science in Moorabbin! The day was filled with hands-on exploration and discovery, giving students the chance to deepen their understanding of Science and connect it with what they’ve been learning in class.
A huge thank you to our wonderful parent helpers for your support on the day, and to our dedicated teachers for planning such a memorable and engaging learning experience. 🌟
On Sunday 10th August, three of our Year 6 students—Heath, Levi, and Jacob—received the Sacrament of Confirmation at the Immaculate Conception Church in Hastings.
The boys prepared for this special milestone with the support of their teacher, Ange Aldag, our Education in Faith Leader, Miss Dullard, and under the guidance of Fr Shymon.
We warmly congratulate Heath, Levi, and Jacob as they continue to grow in faith and take this important step in their spiritual journey.
Last week, our Mini Mary’s joined us for their very first transition session! It was a wonderful opportunity for our future students to explore the school, enjoy some playtime, and begin getting to know each other.
We are so excited to welcome this amazing group of future students and their families into the St Mary’s family, and we look forward to many more sessions together!
As many of you will know, we have had a wave of illness at St Mary’s affecting both students and staff. We kindly ask families to please keep children at home if they are unwell, to help stop the spread and give everyone time to recover.
When staff are unwell it can be quite challenging to arrange replacements, so we really appreciate your support and understanding as we work creatively to make sure classes are covered.
If your child comes to school unwell, we will contact you to collect them so they can rest and get better at home. Thank you for helping us keep St Mary’s a healthy and safe place for all!
Last Thursday, our Year 3–6 students took part in the Senior Parish Sports at Westernport College, joining students from St Joseph’s and St Brendan’s. It was a fabulous day filled with energy, teamwork, and fun—and we were even blessed with perfect weather! ☀️
A big thank you to Lisa Galvin and our dedicated staff team for their organisation and support, and an extra shout-out to our wonderful parent volunteers who helped make the day possible.
