Year 12: The Final Chapter 🎓

And just like that…normal school is over.

It is hard to believe that our Year 12 students have reached this point.

After years of bells, classrooms, lockers, SACs, DLAs, deadlines and the occasional “I thought that was due next week?”, their normal school routine has officially come to an end.

The final stretch has certainly tested them. Students have worked through the many SACs and DLAs needed to complete Unit 4, while also dealing with the unexpected arrival of Influenza A at exactly the wrong time.

Despite this, they kept going, caught up and got through it.

Thankfully, there have also been opportunities to put the study aside and celebrate.

The Year 12 Formal at Buda gave everyone the chance to dress up, relax and enjoy being together without a textbook or assessment in sight.

The Year 12 Luncheon provided another opportunity to celebrate the cohort and reflect on everything they have achieved together.

And now comes the strange part…there are no more normal classes.

No more following the usual timetable, sitting in the same classrooms or simply knowing what tomorrow at school will look like.

Instead, the final weeks will look different for everyone, with revision, practice exams, final VCE exams and other pathways marking the end of secondary school.

Whatever the next few weeks look like for each student, this is a significant moment for the whole cohort.

Some are preparing for exams, while others have already completed their Year 12 requirements and are beginning to look towards what comes next.

For those still preparing, there will be days when you feel completely ready and others when you wonder whether you have ever attended a class in your life. Both are normal.

So, revise, ask questions, do the practice exams, take breaks, get some sleep and look after each other.

Most importantly, remember that you have already achieved something significant…you made it through Year 12!

And while the exams matter, don't forget to look around and appreciate these final moments.

Remember the classrooms. The lockers. The lunches. The laughs. The friendships. The teachers who helped, challenged and encouraged you.

Remember the Formal, and all the ordinary moments that didn't seem important at the time.

Because soon, they will be memories.

This is not just the end of Year 12. It is the end of a chapter of your life.

The exams will finish, the next steps will begin, and each student will head in their own direction.

But whatever comes next, you will always be part of the CSC Year 12 cohort of 2026.

For now, Year 12, the finish line is in sight, but don't forget to enjoy the final moments along the way.
