Year 7 Junior School News
It has been another busy and exciting time for our Year 7 students, with plenty of opportunities to learn, connect, participate and celebrate their achievements.
Our students embraced R U OK? Day with plenty of fun, laughter and connection. The movie afternoon was a great opportunity for students to relax, spend time together and reflect on the importance of checking in with others and looking out for our friends. We also celebrated Wear It Purple day, with students showing their support for inclusion, respect and creating a school community where everyone feels welcome and valued.
We are incredibly proud of the Year 7 girls who represented the College alongside the Year 8 team in school soccer, where they were awarded the Spirit Award. This is a fantastic achievement and a wonderful recognition of their enthusiasm, teamwork and positive attitude. Congratulations to all of our students involved!
During Extended Mentor, students have also been exploring e-safety, developing their understanding of how to make safe, respectful and responsible choices when using technology and engaging online. These sessions have provided valuable strategies for navigating the online world safely and positively.
Our Reading Challenge and Book Week activities have provided plenty of opportunities for students to celebrate books and reading. A special congratulations goes to 7F, who were the winners of this year's Reading Challenge. It has been fantastic to see students sharing their favourite books, discovering new stories and celebrating the joy of reading.
There have been some fantastic achievements across the Year 7 cohort. Congratulations to 7F, who also took out the Footy Tipping Competition, and to 7D, who won the Uniform Challenge. A very special congratulations goes to 7B, who won the NAPLAN Growth Award. To celebrate their achievement, 7B enjoyed a pizza lunch at the Botanical Gardens, providing a wonderful opportunity for the class to celebrate their hard work, persistence and growth together.
We are also very proud of all of the students who have recieved a values certificate this term. Below are those who recieved certificates during in Week 6 of this term.
As we look towards next term, we are beginning preparations for movement to Middle School. This will be an exciting next step for our Year 7 students as they prepare for greater independence and new opportunities within the College. It has been wonderful to see our Year 7 students getting involved, supporting one another and celebrating each other's successes. We look forward to seeing what the remainder of the year brings!
