Year 10-12 badminton success at Springbank Secondary College
On Wednesday 26 May, several Aberfoyle Park High School students travelled to Springbank Secondary College to compete in the Year 10 to12 badminton competition. Our students faced strong opponents and delivered impressive results across both boys' and girls' divisions.
In the boys’ division, Felix S and Regan P emerged victorious in Division 1, overcoming tough competition from Woodville and Campbelltown to win the final, 21–17.
In the girls’ division, Ann N and Robin K, as well as Charlie K and Jasmine C, both excelled by winning five out of six matches. Their efforts saw them finish second in Division 2 and Division 3, respectively, at the end of the round robin competition.
Emma J, Talia McD, Korben H, Kale H, Alex G and Darcy R showed remarkable improvement throughout the day, with several teams finishing strongly by winning their finals play-off matches.
These outstanding results were achieved thanks to the students' commitment and tireless training during lunchtime throughout terms 1 and 2. Congratulations to all participants for their dedication and sporting spirit.
Year 12s triumph in volleyball match
On Friday, 5 June, the much-anticipated Year 12 versus Staff volleyball match took place during lunchtime. The game featured plenty of high action, skilled plays, and laughter from all involved.
Congratulations to our year 12s, who claimed victory, a first in several years against the staff team.
Special mentions go to Becky for her impressive serving and to Ben and Naoki for their powerful spikes. Thank you to Olivia for umpiring the match and to everyone who came out to support both teams.
Also to note, the photos from the event were captured by our talented student, Jack De P.
We look forward to a spirited netball rematch next term.

Our Year 9 Outdoor Education excursion to Belair National Park
Our Year 9 Outdoor Education students enjoyed ideal bushwalking conditions on their recent excursion to Belair National Park.
After several weeks developing their map-reading and navigation skills in class, it was fantastic to see students step up and apply their learning in a real-world setting.
Following peer instruction and confidently leading others can be challenging, but many students embraced these leadership opportunities throughout the walk.
Highlights included exploring Echo Tunnel, working together through more challenging sections of the trail, spotting kangaroos and a koala on their home turf and visiting the waterfall lookout, albeit without the water.
Students also demonstrated ethical and responsible bushwalking practices, making the day a rewarding day out of the classroom.
