Principal's Report 

 We, at Miners Rest Primary School, would like to acknowledge the Wadawurrung people of the Kulin Nation.

We pay our respects and thank the Wadawurrung people. May we share your land. We promise to look after it, as well as the animals and people too.

2027 Class Placement Requests

We are in the process of configuring classes for 2027. If you wish to share information about your child that will support successful placement in a class for 2027, please make an appointment with me, via the school email address. Requests for an appointment to discuss 2027 class placement must be received no later than Friday 30th October. Please note, requests for 2027 class placement cannot be arranged through classroom teachers.

Kindergarten Traffic

With half of the kindergarten carpark currently out of commission, traffic during kindergarten drop-off and collection times is already significantly busier than usual. Many of our families are having to park in the gravel area opposite and walk through the carpark with young children. The additional vehicles entering and exiting to drop off school children are creating an additional safety risk during these busy periods, and we ask all families to be mindful of this. Every member of our kindergarten and school community have the responsibility to think safety as a priority - we thank you in advance for your understanding and support.

Extra Long Weekend

Our staff will engaging in a Professional Practice Day on Monday, focusing on Assessment and Reporting, therefore students will not be required to attend school. With the Melbourne Cup Public Holiday on Tuesday, we look forward to welcoming students and families back next Wednesday
