Bulldogs Read Literacy Program - 2026 Finale Event

On Friday the 23rd of October, students in Bulldogs Read attended the finale event at Russell Square in Ballarat, meeting with other participating in school's to celebrate their work for the year. This included engaging in football drills and the Western Bulldogs Inflatable Roadshow, as well as participating in an author presentation and workshop with local writer, Jack Henseleit.

At lunchtime, the formal presentations for the program took place, where all schools were acknowledged for their participation throughout the year, students shared personal reflections and major prize winners were announced. Elly Mc and Louise R provided a beautiful and insightful reflection of their time in the program, confidently speaking in front of the audience after memorising their entire speech.

We were incredibly proud of our very own Ollie C, who was recognised for his hardwork, persistence and improvement over the course of the year. Ollie was one of three students selected from the entire program, which comprises over 100 students, for one of these awards, taking home a brand new iPad!

A final congratulations to all 2026 Bulldogs Read students, who submitted a record total of 266 book reviews across the entire year. What an incredible accomplishment!

We look forward to formally acknowledging our students at our upcoming assembly in Week 5.
