Year 2 Day Camp
Burwood East Primary School
Year 2’s Camp Adventure!
On Friday the 23rd of October, our Year 2 students headed to Mount Evelyn Discovery Camp for their first taste of camp life! We were lucky to have a beautiful, warm and sunny day for our outdoor adventures.
The Giant Swing brought plenty of excitement! Students worked together to pull their classmates up before they swung through the air. There were lots of big smiles and cheers as students challenged themselves to try something new!
During Eco Warriors, students explored the bushland and learnt about caring for our environment, including how removing weeds and growing native plants helps protect homes for local wildlife.
In Nature Craft, students used natural materials to build little boats, which they then tested along the river. They also got creative making tiny houses for fairies and bugs - some very lucky little neighbours now have lovely new homes!
In Ultimate Survivor, students worked in teams to build huts out of sticks and bark. Then came the big test - water! Would their huts keep them dry? It was a fun way to practise teamwork and problem-solving, with a few splashes along the way!
We were so proud of our Year 2 students for having a go, encouraging their friends and embracing new experiences. What a wonderful first camp adventure!
