Assistant Principal's Report

Foundation Transition

This week, we held the second transition session for our 2027 Foundation students. It was lovely to meet all our new students and welcome them to our school.

Our new Foundation students attend five face-to-face sessions between now and the end of the year. We use the student sessions to familiarise students with their new school environment, support them in making connections with children they will attend school with next year, develop confidence in our environment, and identify the supports required for the start of next year.

It is important that we support the whole family in transitioning to school, so we also hold information sessions for parents. This week’s session informed the parents about our English curriculum and the use of mentor texts. Our next session will inform parents about our specialist areas, communication and all things BEPS!

World Teachers' Day

On Friday, 30th October, we celebrate our teachers and thank them for all the work they do to educate, inspire and empower our learners. Every day, our teachers go above and beyond for their students and their school communities. This World Teachers' Day is the perfect time to stop, reflect and say thank you to our teachers for the outstanding contributions they make in our classrooms and communities.

All our teachers at BEPS are highly valued and deserve a HUGE thank you. We certainly appreciate their professionalism, dedication and the energy and commitment they bring to their role. We are proud to celebrate and thank our wonderful teachers every day. Please take the time to say ‘thank you’ to your child’s teacher.

Springtime: Allergies

With the arrival of spring, some students may experience hay fever or seasonal allergy symptoms. To help keep your child comfortable and ready for learning, we encourage families to manage any known symptoms as part of their usual health routine.

Please note that BEPS does not stock antihistamines or other allergy medications for general administration. If your child requires medication, please ensure this is provided to the school in accordance with our medication procedures.

Where appropriate, administering your child’s usual medication at home before school may help manage symptoms throughout the day.

Thank you for your support in helping our students stay comfortable, healthy and ready to learn.

2026 Yearbook

The 2026 BEPS Yearbook captures the highlights, friendships and achievements that made this year special. Each class has its own pages, alongside Specialist learning, excursions, camps, sporting events, the Specialist Fair, clubs and other special moments from across our school community. Don’t forget to order your book before the deadline, 16th November. These books are an amazing collage of cram-filled events, creativity, and learning from your child, their friends and the whole School in 2026.

Bodyworks Year 5 & 6

Year 5 and 6 students have participated in the Bodyworks Health and Wellbeing Program, exploring the physical, social and emotional changes that occur as they grow. The sessions provide age-appropriate information and opportunities to ask questions, build confidence, develop healthy relationships and make informed choices about their health and wellbeing. The students have enjoyed their lessons, asking many curious questions and lots of giggles along the way!

Hats

School hats are to be worn by all students and staff during all outdoor activities this term.

Pupil Free Day

A reminder that Monday, November 2, is a pupil-free day. All-day care is available from Team Kids and can be booked as usual.

On this day, we will be holding parent-teacher interviews. All interviews are held here at school unless you email the teacher to request an online session. Thank you to the 386 bookings already made!

The pupil-free day is followed by the Melbourne Cup public holiday on Tuesday, 3 November.

We look forward to seeing you and your child back at school on Wednesday, 4th November.

Have a great weekend!
