2027 Subject Selection Expo & Learning Events

On Monday, 20 July, the College will host our 2027 Subject Selection Expo for students moving into Years 9, 10, and 11. This important event provides students with the opportunity to explore future learning pathways, consider their strengths and interests, and make informed decisions about subject selections for the years ahead.

During the School Day:

Year 8 (into Year 9) – Period 2

Students will attend a short information session introducing the Year 9 elective process and key considerations when selecting subjects.

Year 9 (into Year 10) – Periods 3 & 4

Students will participate in a transition information session focused on moving into Year 10. They will also have time to explore subject displays and speak directly with teachers about elective options.

Year 10 (into Year 11) – Periods 5 & 6

Students will attend a session outlining VCE and pathway options for Year 11. They will then have the opportunity to visit subject displays and speak with staff about their future study choices.

Evening Events – Year 10 Families

Starting VCE Information Evening

We warmly invite Year 10 families to attend the Starting VCE Information Evening, which provides an overview of the transition into VCE at the College, including both VCE and VCE Vocational Major (VCE VM) pathways.

This is an important opportunity to hear from College leaders, gain insight into senior schooling expectations, and ask questions about subject selection and future pathways.

  • 6:30–7:15 pm: Information session (Year 10 into 11)
  • 7:15–8:00 pm: Subject displays and conversations with Learning Leaders

Junior School Learning Showcase & Applied Learning Café

Time: 5:30–6:30 pm

We invite families to join us for an engaging evening celebrating student learning across the College.

In the Junior School Building, families can tour classrooms and view a range of student work from Years 7 and 8. This showcase highlights the effort, creativity, and achievement of students throughout Semester 1.

At the same time, our Applied Learning Café (Grounded Coffee Shop, outside the Year 9 and 10 Coordinators’ Office) will be open, where VCE Vocational Major students will demonstrate their learning through the operation of a real café. Families are warmly encouraged to stop by for a drink and support students in this authentic learning experience.

GAT and Semester 1 Exams acknowledgments

We extend our sincere thanks to all staff who contributed to the smooth running of the recent GAT, including those who supported supervision, organisation, and student wellbeing throughout the day. Your teamwork and commitment are greatly appreciated.

We also acknowledge and congratulate our Year 10 and Year 11 students for their focus and effort in completing their Semester 1 internal examinations.

As we conclude Term 2, we thank all members of our school community for their ongoing support and engagement. We wish families a safe, restful, and enjoyable holiday break, and look forward to welcoming students back for the start of Term 3.
