The Year 7 Boys team recorded one win and one draw, narrowly missing out on progressing to the next stage. The Year 7 Girls team also narrowly missed progressing after finishing with two wins and one draw, missing out on a countback. Both Year 8 teams had outstanding days, reaching their respective grand finals. Despite both teams falling short in the final match, they should be proud of their efforts and achievements.

Intermediate SSV Soccer

Our Intermediate Boys and Girls Soccer teams recently represented the College with great pride at the Intermediate SSV Soccer, demonstrating excellent skill, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the day.

Intermediate Boys

The boys' team enjoyed an outstanding tournament, remaining undefeated throughout the pool matches.

In their opening match against BCC, the team secured a convincing 3–0 victory. Goals were scored by Ben Bellairs, Harley Storr, and Zac Semmens, while Billy Carwood was a standout in defence, helping keep a clean sheet.

The boys followed this with an impressive 3–1 win over LSC. Zac Semmens opened the scoring, while Ben Bellairs added two goals, including a spectacular scissor-kick finish that was one of the highlights of the day. Patrick Hermans was influential through the midfield, controlling play and creating opportunities for his teammates.

In their final pool match against KSC, the team finished strongly with a 3–0 victory. Patrick Hermans scored twice and was again outstanding in the midfield. Billy Carwood and Linc were rock-solid in defence, while Toby Nicholas worked tirelessly through the midfield to help the team finish the preliminary rounds undefeated.

The boys progressed to the Grand Final, where they were involved in a thrilling contest. After scores could not be separated at full time, the match was decided by a penalty shootout. Showing great composure under pressure, the team converted their opportunities to secure the victory and be crowned Intermediate Soccer Champions.

Intermediate Girls

The girls' team also enjoyed a fantastic tournament, progressing through the day without conceding a goal in the pool matches.

Their opening match against BCC finished in a hard-fought 0–0 draw. Goalkeeper Eve Hansen was outstanding between the posts, while Stella O'Leary led the defence superbly. Zara Nobile consistently created attacking opportunities from the wing and was a constant threat going forward.

The girls then produced an excellent performance against LSC, recording a 4–0 victory. Beau Glen scored twice, while Olivia Jacobs added two goals of her own. Amelia Hams was exceptional through the midfield, linking defence and attack and helping drive the team forward throughout the match.

In their final pool match against KSC, the girls secured a 2–0 win with goals from Olivia Jacobs and Zara Nobile. Tanner Godding produced one of the moments of the day, saving a penalty to preserve another clean sheet and cap off a terrific team performance.

The girls advanced to the Grand Final against Foster Secondary College, where they completed a remarkable day by claiming the championship. Beau Glen starred in the final, creating numerous attacking opportunities and playing a key role in the team's success.

Supported by a determined and disciplined team performance across the field, the girls secured the Grand Final victory and were crowned Intermediate Soccer Champions.

Congratulations to all students involved for their commitment, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the day. To have both our Intermediate Boys and Intermediate Girls teams win their respective Grand Finals is a fantastic achievement and a credit to the dedication, skill and character of our students. Both teams represented Mary MacKillop Catholic Regional College with pride and excellence throughout the tournament.
