Mission & Faith Life

As we prepare for an exciting Term 4, our students will have several opportunities to put faith into action through a range of Christian Service initiatives. We invite your family to support these important projects as we work together to serve those in need and strengthen our school community.
Year 8 Christian Market Stalls (Term 3, Week 10)
Our annual Year 8 Christian Market Stalls will be held on Wednesday 23 September.
Students from Kindergarten to Year 12 are invited to attend during lunchtime to enjoy games, activities and purchase items from the stalls. This will be held on our primary school oval.
We encourage families to send:
Gold coins, or
No larger than $5 note denominations please for students wishing to participate.
All funds raised will directly support the Christmas Boxes project for John Pujajangka-Piyirn Catholic School.
Christmas Boxes for John Pujajangka-Piyirn Catholic School (Term 4 Weeks 1-5)
During the first half of Term 4, students will be preparing Christmas gift boxes for children attending John Pujajangka-Piyirn Catholic School in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Our goal is to prepare a Christmas box for every child in their community.
Funds from the Y8 Christian Market Stalls (above) will be used to prepare these Christmas boxes. To support this initiative, families are invited to consider donating new or gently used toys, games and gifts suitable for children under 12 years of age. Donations can be brought to school throughout the first four weeks of term.
All Christmas boxes will be prepared and sent to the Kimberley by the end of Week 5. If interested, you can read more about the incredible work happening in this remote community here https://www.jppmulan.wa.edu.au/
Vinnies Christmas Appeal (Term 4 Weeks 6-9)
From Week 6, we will begin our second Christmas giving initiative in support of the Vinnies Christmas Appeal.
As in previous years, students will be invited to contribute a gold coin donation to a class or PCG communal fund. These funds will be used to purchase gifts for individuals and families supported by St Vincent de Paul.
Students will participate in wrapping the gifts, which will be presented during our End-of-Year Liturgy in Week 10 before being donated directly to Vinnies Armadale. More information about the incredible work Vinnies do to support people at Christmas-time can be found here https://donate.vinnies.org.au/christmas-appeal
Socktober Liturgy (Term 4 Week 2)
Students are invited to participate in our Socktober Liturgy on Wednesday 21 October.
Students are encouraged to wear their craziest and most colourful socks and bring a gold coin donation. Funds raised will support the work of Catholic Mission and its projects assisting vulnerable communities around the world. More information can be found here https://www.socktober.org.au/
Vinnies School Sleepout (Term 4 Weeks 3 and 5)
The Vinnies School Sleepout provides students with an opportunity to learn about homelessness, build awareness and raise funds for those experiencing disadvantage.
This voluntary event is open to:
Years 4-6 students: Friday 13 November, 3:00pm to 7:00pm
Year 10 students: Friday 30 October, 3:00pm to 8:00pm
Participation is by registration only. Further details regarding registration and fundraising will be provided at the beginning of next term.
Supporting our Salvado Families with Uniforms (Term 4 Week 4 and 5)
We will be seeking donations of pre-loved uniforms that are still in good condition and will host a uniform sale on Monday 9 and Tuesday 10 November. Funds raised through this initiative will support the Vinnies Christmas Appeal. We wish to support our families to access quality, affordable uniforms.
Thank You
Thank you for your continued support of our Christian Service Learning Program. These initiatives provide valuable opportunities for students to demonstrate compassion, generosity and solidarity with others. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.
Yours in Christ,
Mrs Georgina Trewavas
