Mr Jacob Cincurak - Senior School Sports Coordinator

Seb Wilson – School Sport Australia Triathlon

Congratulations to Year 8 student, Seb Wilson, on an outstanding achievement at the recent national triathlon championships held on the Gold Coast, where he finished 2nd in Australia.

Seb delivered an exceptional two days of racing against the country’s top young triathletes. Competing in the Super Sprint triathlons, he placed 3rd and 5th, earning enough points to qualify for the A Final, where he entered ranked equal 5th, an impressive position heading into the championship race.

The Grand Final proved to be a thrilling contest. Seb exited the water in 4th place before joining the lead pack on the bike. Demonstrating great race awareness and teamwork, he worked alongside his NSW teammate to control the pace and gain an advantage over a strong Queensland field.

Coming off the bike in 2nd place, Seb executed a brilliant transition to move into 1st heading onto the run. In a fiercely contested final leg, he showed incredible determination briefly dropping to 3rd before surging back into 2nd place on the final lap, finishing just 5 seconds behind the national champion.

Reflecting on his performance, Seb described it as an unforgettable experience, having not only achieved a podium finish but also formed new friendships throughout the week of competition.

This remarkable result is a testament to Seb’s hard work, resilience, and commitment to his training. The College also acknowledges the vital support of his coaches, training partners, and the NSW School Team managers who played an important role in his success.

Seb’s achievement is something the entire Trinity community can be incredibly proud of, and we look forward to following his continued journey in the sport.

BISSA Golf

A new and exciting competition was introduced in 2026, with the inaugural Border Schools Golf Tournament held between schools in Albury. Year 11 student Joel Gatford had the honour of taking the opening tee shot at the Albury Commercial Club Golf Course, marking the official start of the event.

Close to 50 students from Years 3 to 12 gathered on the hill to watch Joel’s drive down the fairway, setting the tone for a fantastic day of competition. Following the opening shot, students from each school were paired with similarly ranked opponents to compete in 18 holes of golf.

It was a highly successful day for Trinity, with outstanding performances across all age groups. Joel Gatford and Ethan Lewis both claimed victories in the senior competition, while Darsh Shah, Lachie Martin, Henry Pearson, Jordan Daniel and Duke Leslie each won their respective match-ups.

Our primary students also took part in a 9-hole Ambrose event, with Year 3 student Buddy Trethowan delivering a standout performance.

With strong interest and excellent results, the school looks forward to growing this opportunity in the years ahead. Families are encouraged to keep an eye on school notices for future registration details.
