Healthy Kids Learn Better

Dear Parents/Guardians,

It is Springtime again! The potential for Thunderstorm Asthma is upon us, please ensure your child has a current Ventolin puffer and spacer stored in the Health Centre if they are at risk of Asthma episodes.

Students who suffer from Hay fever may also be at risk of Thunderstorm Asthma. Antihistamines, such as Zyrtec or Claratyne before school can reduce the risk of an episode occurring at school. A Medication Authority Form will need to be completed to leave a supply of antihistamines with the School Nurse in the event a medication is administered during the school day.

DOCUMENTATION

  • DOCUMENTATION - It is of utmost importance that our school is provided with up to date information. Documentation that is required has been sent to the relevant families, most recently via email. Please complete and return to the Health Centre as soon as possible.

MEDICATION

  • MEDICATION - Occasionally, students require medication while they are at school. In order to administer medication to students a Medication Authority form needs to be completed with a parent’s signature. Medications are to be provided to the school in original packaging with pharmacy labels intact. Tablet sleeves need to have the full name of the medication and expiry date intact.

AMBULANCE COVER

  • AMBULANCE COVER - A reminder, in the event of an emergency, either by accident / injury or illness, the college will call an ambulance. Please ensure your child is covered by ambulance cover if you do not have a Health Care Card. The costs incurred for an ambulance will be the responsibility of the respective parents/guardians.

COVID 19

Please be vigilant with COVID 19 sign & symptoms, if your child is unwell do not send them to school until the symptoms have resolved.

We need to keep each other safe so life can return to some sort of normality.

Many thanks,

The Health Centre Team
