Primary Sport
3-6 Athletics
Since having our school athletics carnival, our students have been progressing through the stages. Despite very windy conditions, students gave it their best during the 3-6 District event and were heard cheering loudly for their peers. 11 of those students progressed through to the Division Athletics that occurred on the 10th September and took time out of their lunch breaks to come a practice. Special shoutout to Gloria S, Bianca N & Jack D who placed 3rd in their event and to Emma M who will represent Brookside at the Regional event for High Jump on the 22 October.
Year 6 Sport
In the year 6 space, students participated in the Summer Gala days that occurred over 2 days. Students picked from Cricket, Volleyball, Basketball or Tennis, and spent time each week practicing with their classroom teachers. From all reports, everyone had fun and there was some great sportsmanship occurring across all the sports. The Girls Cricket team were unable to fill a full team but still managed to get some wins on the board. Special mention to the Girls Volleyball team who narrowly missed out and to the Boys Basketball team that made finals! A huge congratulations to the Girls Tennis team who won and are progressing through to the division event on the 11th October.
Amazing job to all students who have represented Brookside College with pride this term 😊
