End of Term 3!

Wow, how amazing to think that another term is almost over! This term has been busy with many wonderful events, including incursions, excursions, interschool sports and whole school events such as Book Week and R U Ok? Week. These events are important for our students to engage in so as to further develop their learning and continue to build connections with their peers and teachers.

School Review

Brookside College is currently undertaking the School Review process. This occurs every four years and it is a wonderful opportunity to identify and acknowledge the progress the College has made over the four years, as well as identify the future goals that will then be outlined in the next School Strategic Plan.

Drop Off/Pick Up Zone

As advised, the Melton Council recently agreed to allow Brookside college to create a Drop Off and Pick Up Zone in Stevenson Crescent. The Council parking sign has also been updated to reflect this. Please note that this was the only location that was approved by Melton Council for a school Drop Off and Pick Up Zone. We ask all members of our school community to assist by adhering to the instructions on all signage in the area.

Father’s Day/ Special Person’s Day Stall

Thank you to our Brookside Parents and Friends Committee (PFC) who once again did an exceptional job running our annual stall, during which students were able to purchase something nice for Father’s Day/Special Person’s Day.

Prep 2025 Enrolments

Brookside College is continuing to accept enrolments for Prep 2025. If you have a child who will be starting Prep next year and haven’t already enrolled, please contact the school as soon as possible to begin the enrolment process.

R U Ok? Day – Thursday 14 September

Every year, Brookside College aims to spread mental health awareness and community connection through the message of R U Ok? Our mission is to create, inspire and empower students and the school community to connect with those around them to support anyone struggling with their mental health.

This year for our R U OK? Day celebrations, the Wellbeing Team at Brookside organised and collaborated with members of the school and other wellbeing organisations, to run programs and events to raise the importance of mental health and wellbeing. Students and staff were encouraged to wear a splash of yellow to acknowledge the importance of this week. There were various activities that occurred on the day, including a Break Dancing dance off between two teams of staff and students led Mrs Newitt and Ms Gunn. Thank you to our Wellbeing Team (Krissy, Emma, Reginald and Valentina) and all other staff involved in organising and putting on a fantastic week for our students.

Mobile Phones on School Grounds

A reminder for all students there is to be no use of mobile phones whilst on school grounds before and after school. This is stated in the Mobile Policy as “inappropriate use of mobile phones is deemed as any use during school hours”. During school hours, it is the expectation that mobile phones are switched off and securely stored in the allocated storage.

Music Extension Soiree Evening

Students who participate in Music Extension classes will be showcasing their hard work during the annual Soiree Evening, which will be held on Wednesday 11 September. It is an opportunity for students and their families to gather together to acknowledge and applaud the hard work and amazing talent of our students. Thank you to Mr Egbert and Mr Jovanoski for their hard work and for organising the evening.
