"Echoes of the Great War" - BY CHLOE
Verse 1:
It started with a spark, a distant cry,A war in Europe, under foreign skies,But we answered the call, with hearts so strong,From the land down under, we marched along.
For our country and glory, for freedom and pride,In the fields of Gallipoli, we stood side by side,Young men of Australia, stood and fought,But the battle was harder than they ever could of thought.
Chorus:
Oh, the echoes of the Great War,They carry on the breeze,The soldiers who were lost,And the tears in the seas.We were young and we were free,But the war would change it all,The blood we shed in distant lands,Still echoes in our call.
Verse 2:
The Western Front called with a deadly sound,In the mud and the trenches, we held our ground, the warmth of our families, we constantly longedIn the heart of the chaos, we battled on.
For mateship and courage, we paid the price,But the cost was too high for so many lives,The fields were red where the poppies bloom,And the memories linger in every room.
Chorus:
Oh, the echoes of the Great War,They carry on the breeze,The soldiers who were lost,And the tears in the seas.We were young and we were free,But the war would change it all,The blood we shed in distant lands,Still echoes in our call.
Last Verse:
Families torn between peace and war,Every soldier broken and sore, But we rose from the ashes, though scarred and bruised,We never knew how much we’d lose
From Gallipoli’s shores to every lost life,The spirit of ANZAC will never die.
Rap about World War one - BY KHOTTS
I was 18 years old
when I saw a poster that read be brave and bold
I got on a boat to fight for my country, but I left my home
We arrived at France, and it was so so cold
my blood froze but I kept quick and composed
I didn’t wanna run my sarge screamed go go go
But he was shot, and I was screaming no no no
My blood broke and shattered out of that freezing cold
It Boiled until i finally felt that brave and bold
I ran at the trench in no man’s land
No one ran with me, but I had to make a stand
I thought about my family at beach and how we’d play in the sand
All the emotions brought a tear to my eye
But deep down, I said deep down inside
I knew that I wasn’t gonna make it alive
But then I felt a pain in my neck
I dropped to my knees and my head hit the deck
I layed there wishing I could tell my family bye
And that loved but I realised I was floating above my body
I had died.
