Spirited Away Trivia
Term 4 has really hit the ground running - it’s hard to believe we’re already nearing the halfway mark of the final term for 2025!
Year 7 and 8 classes have been regular visitors to the library, enjoying our Trivia Quiz sessions. These quizzes have been aligned with the English curriculum, providing students with a fun and interactive way to consolidate on their learning throughout the year.
In addition to the curriculum-based quizzes, the library has also hosted a number of general knowledge trivia sessions, encouraging friendly competition and collaboration among the students. It has been fantastic to see increased engagement and enthusiasm across the students and class groups.
NEW BOOKS!!!
Some long-awaited requests have finally entered the library catalogue.
The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes
The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes will revisit the world of Panem sixty-four years before the events of The Hunger Games, starting on the morning of the reaping of the Tenth Hunger Games. Coriolanus Snow has one shot at glory as a mentor in the tenth annual Hunger Games. He plans to outcharm, outwit and outmanoeuvre his fellow students to mentor the winning tribute. The odds are against him: he has been given the female tribute from District 12, the lowest of the low. Their fates are now intertwined – every choice Coriolanus makes could lead to favour or failure, triumph or ruin. Inside the arena, it will be a fight to the death. Outside the area, Coriolanus will do anything it takes to survive.
Glorious Rivals
The impossible puzzles, irresistible romance and shocking twists continue in the second instalment in the brand-new Grandest Games series, set in the world of the #1 bestselling The Inheritance Games. Five players remain. Seven Players arrived on Hawthorne Island to play a billionaire's game. Now only five remain, and the race to the finish line is on. Everyone is a liar. The heat turns up on the competition - and between the players - and it becomes increasingly clear that no one will emerge from the Grandest Game unscathed. And someone is watching. Millions are at stake, but so are hearts - and lives. The game is on. The stakes get higher, the game gets twistier, and everything heats up in this newest instalment.
The Girl and The Ghost
She snaps the locket shut. Just as quickly as he appeared, the boy is gone. Josephine’s heart is hammering. Her skin feels prickly and hot. Surely, she’s imagined him. That’s the only possible explanation. Because boys don’t live in lockets. Not unless they’re ghosts. And ghosts aren’t real. Or are they? When almost-thirteen-year-old Josephine Eloise Thomas moves from Sydney to a chateau in the southwest of France, she expects many things – adventures, inspiration for the stories she loves to write and maybe finding out more about her French mother, who tragically died when she was a toddler. What she doesn’t expect is to find a beautiful gold locket with the ghost of Louis XVII trapped inside! After being accidentally released into the twenty-first century, the young prince proves to be annoying, strange and obviously from another time. He also believes that Josephine is not who she says she is.
Then, there’s Gabriel. The grandson of the local baker – French, beautiful, an artist and definitely not a ghost. When Josephine and Gabriel venture to the shadowy Chateau Du Lac next door to her home, the secrets become more sinister. With Louis’s help, can Josephine and Gabriel discover what her neighbours are really up to and solve the mystery of Louis and the locket too?
Fazbear Frights: Five Nights at Freddy's
All eleven Fazbear Frights books in one amazing box set plus a twelfth book of bonus stories, stories that didn't make the cut for the first eleven books! Five Nights at Freddy's creator Scott Cawthon spins three sinister novella-length tales in each book of this collection with stories from different corners of his series' canon.
What do you wish for most? It's a question that Oswald, Sarah and Millie think they know the answer to. Oswald wishes his summer wasn't so boring, Sarah wishes to be beautiful, and Millie wishes she could just disappear from the face of the earth. But in the twisted world of Five Nights at Freddy's, their hearts' deepest desires have an unexpected cost.

SEEKING DONATIONS
SPRING CLEANING BEFORE CHRISTMAS?
Do you have any jigsaw puzzles at home that could use a new home? We would love to give them a second life in our library!
Students and staff have been enjoying taking a few minutes to unwind with the ongoing community puzzle, stationed in the library - adding a few pieces whenever they pass by. It is amazing how a puzzle can inspire connection and collaboration or simply provide an extra bit of relaxation.
If you would like to donate a puzzle (in good condition, please!), simply drop it off at the library. Your contribution will help keep this much-loved activity going!
