Last week, two of our Year 5 students, Edward and Arav, were selected to represent Salisbury East in the SAPSASA cricket competition, an impressive achievement that highlights their skill, dedication, and sportsmanship.

Across three very tough days of competition, the boys faced strong, experienced teams (and some much bigger opponents!), yet they both rose to the challenge and excelled in their own ways.

Arav thrilled the crowds with his powerful boundary hitting and delivered a standout performance behind the stumps as wicketkeeper. His sharp reflexes and confident presence added real strength to the team.

Edward had the chance to be opening batsman on several games which he did with consistency and composure, setting a strong platform for his side. His bowling was equally impressive across all games, with his best moment being a remarkable THREE wickets in a single over.

Both boys demonstrated excellent teamwork, resilience, and genuine sportsmanship, qualities that made them wonderful representatives of Good Shepherd. Their efforts contributed to the team placing sixth overall in a highly competitive field.

Well done, Edward and Arav! You have done GSPV proud!

What a great term the U7 netball team from Good Shepherd have had this term!

A few wins, some losses and even a 0-0 draw! All the kids grew in their skills and were committed to the team with great enthusiasm. They rotated positions each week and began learning the intricate details of the rules for Netball!

Congratulations to Elise, MacKenzie, Lyla, Abbey, Hendrix, Sadie, Zaeli and Cailin for a fantastic term of learning, growth and teamwork!

Some of the children hope to continue next year in the Good Shepherd Netball team. They are looking forward to that!

Thanks,

Jodi Quast

GS Warriors - Basketball

27/11/2025

This week the GS Warriors were up against Pedare Lightning in a semifinal showdown and the Warriors were extremely determined to win the game and make the Grand Final after completing the season undefeated.

A slow start from the Warriors showed there were some finals nerves at play, and the scores were quite close for the first 8 minutes of the game with Pedare leading 7-6.  A quick time out called by Pedare allowed the Warriors to regroup compose themselves and start to take hold of the game.  High pressure defence and excellent teamwork enabled the Warriors to finish the first half leading 19-7.

The second half saw the Warriors impose their will on Pedare and maintain a comfortable lead throughout, strong team working on offence and consistent pressure and support for their teammates in defence saw the Warriors run out 33-17 winners.

With the GS Gators winning their Semifinal 46-23 against Prescott Thunder, it sets up an all-Good Shepherd Final, which both teams are very much looking forward to and is well deserved after both teams have had great seasons.
