Year 9 - Western Region Girls in STEM Camp
Girls Broadening Horizons
Date: Tuesday 28th -Thursday 30th October
Location: Ballarat Tech School
Are you interested in or enjoy Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths?
The Western Region Year 9 Girls in STEM camp is all about "you can't be what you can't see" and gives students the chance to explore STEM with mentors, hands-on experiences, and skills that will open up more future possibilities for them.Over three action-packed days, you will tackle creative challenges, connect with like-minded peers and mentors, and gain real-world insights into clean energy and use cases for robotics and automation. Horsham College is looking to send approx. 12 interested girls to the camp (along with girls and staff from other schools in the region, there will be a total of 40 students on the camp).
Activities: Robot building, block coding, automation, sound and light design, skills in laser cutting and drone piloting.
Cost? FREE! We have received funding to support girls attendance in this STEM camp. Ballarat Tech School will cover all costs including travel, food, accommodation and all experiences.
Accommodation: Log Cabin Homestead, Creswick
Evening Entertainment:10 Pin Bowling, Sovereign Hill AURA sound and light show.
