Senior Boys State Quarter Final

On Tuesday, 19th August, our Senior Football team travelled to Ballarat to compete in the State Quarter Finals. It was a fantastic day of football, with the boys facing off against Lakeview College from Caroline Springs.

The game was played at a fast pace, with our boys showcasing great skill and matching it with their opponents for much of the contest. Unfortunately, with a few players unavailable and some injuries during the match, Lakeview managed to gain the upper hand late in the game.

Despite the result, there were plenty of outstanding passages of play, and our boys displayed terrific spirit and sportsmanship throughout the day. Reaching the State Quarter Finals is an exceptional achievement and a testament to the hard work of the players, as well as the dedication of our AFL program and Sports staff.

Congratulations to our Senior team on a fantastic season and an impressive campaign!

Congratulations to our Year 7 and Year 8 Netball teams who travelled to Hamilton to compete in the Netball Victoria School Championships in Hamilton on Wednesday 20th August.

Both teams were successful in winning all their games in their respective pools and this now qualifies them to compete in Melbourne in the State Finals on Tuesday 9th September at the State Netball Centre in Parkville.

Well done to all students and a big thank you to Olivia T and Charlie W for umpiring, our team of scorers and Ms Rowe for coaching the Year 8 team and Ms Hiscock the Year 7’s.

A big thanks to our parent helper Toni or as the teams called her Buzz’s Mum for offering exceptional coaching advice to our Senior and Junior team members we really appreciated your wealth of knowledge.

Black Ranges Year 7 & 8 Volleyball

On Wednesday 20th August, our junior students travelled to the Horsham Basketball Stadium to compete in the Black Ranges Volleyball Competition. With volleyball proving to be a very popular sport, we entered one Year 7 team and six Year 8 teams. Having so many teams involved made for a busy but exciting day, and our students were fantastic throughout, showing great effort and enthusiasm.

We were thrilled to have four of our teams make it through to the finals, and even more delighted that two of them went on to win their grand finals and progress to the next stage.

Our Year 8 Boys team enjoyed a terrific day and claimed victory, a particularly impressive effort given that many of them don’t play regular competition volleyball. Meanwhile, our Year 8 Girls team showcased outstanding skill and teamwork, taking out the grand final in a high-quality match against Lutheran.

Both teams will now advance to the Greater Western Region competition, which will once again be held in Horsham on Monday 9th September.
