Gareth Hose & Kate Gardner, Year 8 Coordinators
We are now into the back end of the short term 3, with students settling into their new 2nd Semester subjects and are completing a number of work requirements and assessments. Teachers are in the process of completing term 3 Interim Reports and parent teacher interviews are approaching on Wednesday 17th September, therefore students are reminded to keep focused and working to be the best version of themselves.
Materials/Resources
We are starting to notice some poor trends with some of our students turning up to classes without their learning materials/resources. Students are reminded they need to be bringing the following to their classes in preparation to learn.
Pencil Case with Stationary
Diary
Subject workbook or folder to write in
Textbook (some select subjects)
Device (Charged)
YLC’s will be conducting random checks to ensure that students are going to classes prepared. Parents please double check with your children to ensure they have all the required stationary and resources here at school.
Out of Bounds areas
Students are reminded that they must not be in Out of bounds areas at Recess and Lunchtimes. Students who are in those areas will be issued suitable consequences as this has been made very clear to all students from Leadership within the school.
Rubbish
We would like to see our Yr 8 cohort take greater pride in our school grounds by placing all rubbish in the many bins provided within the school. An increase in rubbish across the school and then into neighbouring properties has reported, so we need to be making a greater effort!
Goodluck to all of our Yr 8 students who are involved in football and netball finals within the Wimmera and Horsham District FNL’s over the coming weeks, we hope you have a successful and injury free series.
Congratulations to 8A who were our overall winners of the form group AFL Footy Tipping competition. 8F came in a close second only 2 tips behind 8A.
Students enjoyed their chocolate prizes!
A number of our Year 8 students have been putting final touches to their practise in preparation for the School Production at the end of the week. We wish Imogen D, Natalie G, Erika J, Ruby H, Ruby S-H, Lola B, Isabella I, Amelia A, Clara S all the best for their performances this weekend!
