Our school is conducting the annual Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey offered by the Department of Education and is seeking your feedback. The survey is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. The survey is optional, but we encourage and appreciate your participation. A random sample of parents / caregivers / guardians will receive an email to participate in this year’s survey.
Our school will use the survey results to assist in identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, to target school planning and improvement strategies. The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey is open now until Friday 19 September 2025.
As per recent communication, construction is about to begin on the new kindergarten at our school. The kinder will provide additional kindergarten places for the local community, while making drop-off time simpler and more convenient for some of our families.
We are working closely with the Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA), who will oversee construction works. They have let us know that a builder has been appointed and works are due to commence on site in the coming weeks.
Construction is forecast to be completed in time for a Term 1, 2026 opening. The VSBA will ensure that construction hours comply with Horsham Rural City Council’s guidelines and the Environment Protection Authority regulations. The builder will also strive to minimise potential disruptions to our school throughout the project.
I thank you for your ongoing support, and please do not hesitate to contact the VSBA if you have specific questions about the construction works – they are more than happy to answer any queries you may have. You can contact the VSBA by phone on 1800 896 950, email vsba@education.vic.gov.au or visit their website: www.schoolbuildings.vic.gov.au.
Unfortunately, we have had an increase of rubbish in the yard, particularly chip packets. This happens for a number of reasons, but it is always disappointing to see our school environment not being treated with care. To support minimising rubbish I ask families to consider wrapper/package free lunches, by using re-usable containers.
