Sitting firmly on the college calendar during term 3 each year to celebrate the Arts at Marist College Ashgrove, Creative Industries Week provides opportunities for students to engage in a range of Arts activities, workshops and performances.
Taking place throughout Week 7, activities included a Music Kahoot in Primary, a lunch time performance by our DJs in the Art courtyard and art workshops for the Tower Art Show “Uplift Project”. A large crowd also gathered in the Draney Theatre to enjoy an impressive showcase of filmmaking by Year 11 student Sidney Martin and Year 12 student Tom Farrell.
A highlight of the week was the return of 2022 Marist Old Boy Baxter Melrose with his band Tear Drive, fresh from a two-month national tour supporting The Jungle Giants. Our students were fortunate to experience classroom music workshops with the band, a lunch time performance and they also attended Audio Club as special guests. The band showcased their compositional, production and performance methods to our Music students and wider student body during their time at the College.
The week culminated in the announcement of the 2026 ASHCam Photography Competition winners as follows -

Junior Section - Year 5 & 6

Middle Section – Year 7 – 10

Senior Section – Year 11 – 12

Open Section – Marist Community

People’s Choice Winner – William Davis (Year 12)
We thank our guest judge, professional photographer, Dr Joachim Froese and we congratulate not only our winners but everyone who entered. The winning photographs will be on display at the upcoming Tower Art Show, after which they will be exhibited in the Senior Library for the remainder of the year.
