Anglicare WA School Sleep Out 2026
On 14 September 2026, 40 All Saints’ College students joined more than 500 Year 10 to 12 students from across Western Australia at the 2026 Anglicare WA School Sleep Out, spending the night on the floor of the WACA with only sleeping bags, pillows and cardboard for shelter. The event raises funds and awareness for Street Connect, an Anglicare WA service supporting young people experiencing homelessness. A powerful roleplay activity challenged students to navigate the barriers faced by people sleeping rough, including difficulties accessing identification, housing, food and essential services, providing valuable insight into the realities of homelessness.
While the evening was enjoyable with friends, the cold, hard conditions made it difficult to sleep and highlighted the challenges many young people face every night without secure housing. Hearing the stories of people who had experienced homelessness left a lasting impression, reinforcing the importance of services like Street Connect. The event was also a fundraising success, with All Saints’ College ranking as the second-highest fundraising school and raising $20,162 towards the approximately $210,000 raised overall, helping support vulnerable young people in Perth.
