Kindy Family Sharing
Family Sharing is a special part of our Kindy program, providing opportunities for families to visit the classroom and share something meaningful with the children. These experiences help strengthen the connection between home and school while enriching our learning community.
Last week, Kindy B welcomed Zabella's family, who treated the children to a very exciting visit with two construction vehicles. Before heading outside, the children participated in an important safety briefing and proudly donned their safety vests and hard hats. They then enjoyed exploring the vehicles up close, learning about their different features and uses, and imagining themselves as construction workers. The experience sparked great curiosity and excitement, with many thoughtful questions and enthusiastic discussions throughout the visit.
A heartfelt thank you to Ayla and Imran for generously sharing their time, vehicles and expertise with Kindy B. It was a memorable learning experience that the children will be talking about for some time to come!
Year 2 Outdoor Learning Program
What a fantastic few days our Year 2 students had during their Outdoor Learning Program last week! Blessed with beautiful weather, the children immersed themselves in nature, putting their classroom inquiry lessons into practice with enthusiasm, teamwork, and respect.
Down at Gabbiljee Creek, students turned into practical scientists as they explored the water ecosystem and built frog hotels to support local biodiversity. On a guided native flora walk, they applied their ecological knowledge to identify local plants, while back at Bush School, they got creative making natural potions and paints. They also showed wonderful resilience and collaboration as they carried out creative renovations to the mia mia.
Thursday afternoon was a highlight, ending on a warm note with campfire songs and roasted marshmallows. It was a wonderful celebration and a fitting conclusion to their time in the Bush School program as our Year 2s prepare to transition to River School next year!
Exploring Walyalup with The Studio School
Last term, the Year 5 students went to The Studio School to explore Walyalup (Fremantle). We met with The Studio School students, who led us through a range of different activities. One of the main activities was a Perspective Walk through Fremantle, led by The Studio School students. We put ourselves in the shoes of people with different abilities and learned that some people can have trouble accessing different places around Fremantle. We then went to the library, where we worked with The Studio School students to design potential solutions to make these places more accessible for everyone.
The Studio School students also ran a range of carnival games, including soccer, a dress-up relay and kickball. A highlight of the day was going to Bathers Beach, where we splashed in the refreshing waves with our friends. Overall, we had a great day exploring Fremantle, and we look forward to exploring our ideas further in the classroom.

Early Learning Interhouse Athletics Carnival
The Junior School came alive at the Early Learning Interhouse Athletics Carnival, as our youngest students took to the field in a vibrant and enthusiastic display of the fundamental athletics skills they have been practising all term.
From the moment the carnival began, little arms and legs were running, jumping and throwing their way through a day filled with excitement, energy and achievement. Time and again, our students amazed us with their enthusiasm, determination and willingness to embrace every challenge with a positive "have a go" attitude. Their confidence and capability were on full display throughout the day, particularly during the impressive Year 1 and Year 2 High Jump Showcase Event, which highlighted the remarkable progress they have made this year.
One of the carnival's standout moments was seeing the joy on our youngest students’ faces as they proudly showed off their colourful face painting before taking to the track. For our older students, coming together for the team games and the 60m sprint events, provided a thrilling conclusion to the day, with students cheering on their peers and demonstrating wonderful house spirit.
A special thank you to the Grounds Team for their tireless efforts in preparing an immaculate oval for the event. We also extend our gratitude to the Year 5 helpers, who offered their assistance with the athletic events and were also outstanding role models for our younger students. Thank you to the SHPE Department for delivering a seamless and professional carnival, and to the teachers and education assistants whose support helped make the day so special. We are also incredibly grateful to the parents and guardians who came along to encourage and celebrate our students’ efforts.
Finally, thank you to every student who participated in the carnival. The sportsmanship, grit and determination demonstrated throughout the day were truly incredible. It was a wonderful celebration of participation, effort and community spirit, and a fantastic reminder of what makes the All Saints’ College community so special.
