I am thrilled to be joining the Blackburn Primary School community as Acting Principal for Term 1. I spent the first ten years of my teaching career at a school in Rowville, followed by several years as Assistant Principal and a period as Acting Principal at Antonio Park Primary School. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my wife and our three children, aged 11, 8, and 6. Away from work, I'm a big Hawthorn fan and try to get out on the golf course whenever I can so I will always welcome a chat about the footy or the state of my golf game when I see you around the school. I look forward to meeting many of you at the gate and working alongside our staff and families to ensure a successful start to the 2026 school year.
Hello, my name is Emma Callery, and I am so excited to be teaching 3C this year! I’m really looking forward to joining a new school and becoming part of the BPS community. As a teacher, I am passionate about creating a positive, engaging learning environment where every student can feel confident and enjoy their learning.
Outside of school, I love spending time with my family, friends and my bulldog, Bernie. I’m an AFL fan (go Saints!) and enjoy baking sweet treats in my spare time. I can’t wait to meet you all and begin a fantastic year together!
My name is Kelly, and I am thrilled to be teaching Grade 4 this year. Outside of the classroom, I love exploring new bike trails and learning all things basketball with my family. I am especially looking forward to introducing some exciting new Maths games to our students to make learning active and fun!
Hello! My name is Joel and this is my first year at BPS!! I have been teaching for 15 years and taught in many different settings. I feel very lucky to be teaching 1N this year. In my spare time I love playing golf, looking after my lawn and garden, and spending time with my wife, 2 kids and dog Jerry. I am looking forward to a full year in the classroom and getting to know you more and being part of this school community.
Hi everyone! My name is Emma and I’m thrilled to be joining BPS as a new Year 2 teacher. I have been teaching for 15 years, having taught at a school in Rowville as well as spending 18 months teaching overseas in Dubai. Outside the classroom, I love to travel, read, and spend time with my husband, 3 kids and my two grandchildren—usually with a good coffee in hand. I’m also a mad Hawthorn supporter and enjoy watching F1, so feel free to chat footy or racing anytime!
Hello! My name is Jasmine and I feel very lucky to be teaching Grade 2Y this year. I started my journey with BPS in 2023 with my 2nd year placement in Foundation with Ms Tribolet, as well as working as an integration aide. When I am not at school, I use my spare time going to the beach, finding good coffee and spending time with family and friends. Any extended spare time is spent travelling! I look forward to meeting you all.
