Wellbeing - Senior School

Year 12 had the opportunity to attend a presentation from guest speaker, Daniel Principe. Daniel, who describes himself as a "passionate youth advocator and educator", led the Senior Class through a lecture-style presentation, which also incorporated group collaboration and open, transparent discussion. Daniel challenged our students to critically reflect on what it truly means to be a "man" in today’s society. His presentation explored the complexities of masculinity, including the impact of toxic masculinity and the importance of recognising and challenging behaviours that can negatively influence individuals and those around them. 

Daniel encouraged our young men to consider the role they play in creating a positive, respectful and inclusive culture, emphasising that strength is demonstrated through character, accountability, empathy and the courage to stand up for what is right. 

Importantly, the session challenged students to think beyond outdated stereotypes of what it means to be a “man” and consider how they can actively contribute to changing the narrative through their words, actions and treatment of others. Daniel was able to achieve this by creating a safe, non-judgemental space and sharing personal anecdotes, which played a vital role in prompting honest, mature and respectful conversation. 

The presentation provided our students with valuable opportunities for reflection and encouraged them to take greater responsibility for the culture they create within their school and wider community. On behalf of the Class of 2026, we would like to sincerely thank Daniel for his ongoing support from Years 10 - 12.
