Five Minutes with Mr Bourbon
BSC Principal

Across two stints, I’ve worked at the college for about three and a half years.
I would have pasta alla gricia, which I had in Rome. It is made with pork cheek and is delicious.
I would love to travel throughout Africa.
My Year 10 English teacher, who was a brilliant woman. She was wonderfully entertaining and passionate, and had a deep sense of kindness for her students. She has probably influenced me the most.
What I love most about being principal of Beauy is seeing our students out in the community and the outstanding young people they are. Playing even a small role in who they become is incredibly fulfilling.
I’ve got a few — the Jason Bourne movies, Notting Hill (one my wife and I watch often), and The Dark Knight Trilogy. When I was an English teacher, Schindler’s List was an incredibly interesting film to teach. And The Godfather Parts I and II — but not III.
Sitting in a sun lounge, reading a book, with a drink close to hand.
I was a bit of a ratbag! It took me a long time, probably too long, to realise that ability without hard work would always sell me short. Thankfully, I got there by VCE. I loved school — the friendships and experiences you don’t realise you’ll miss until you leave. I’ll always be grateful to the teachers who taught me and understood how to help me do my best.
Ice Ice Baby.
Thanks, Mr Bourbon!
