Principal's Report

As we approach the end of Term 1, we acknowledge the positive and productive start to the year across the college, along with the many contributions of our staff, students and families.
Year 12 Jumpers
Year 12 students received their 2026 jumpers last week, marking an important milestone in their final year. The jumpers reflect the identity of the cohort and contribute to a strong sense of belonging. Thank you Phoebe Meure for the design and to India Keech and Eve Oakley for coordinating the process.
Student-Led House Athletics Rally & Carnival
On Monday 23 March, the college held its first fully student-led assembly, led by our Year Level, Sport and House Captains in preparation for the House Athletics Carnival. Student leaders introduced key initiatives, including the Bigger Buddy System, and delivered a range of engaging segments that built energy and strengthened House spirit across the college. Thank you to Mr Ardi for his organisation and support in bringing this event together.
The House Athletics Carnival was a great success, with our highest ever attendance and student participation, creating a positive atmosphere across the day. Thank you to Mr Pinto for his organisation of this event.
Regional Swimming
Students represented the college at the Regional Swimming Championships, achieving an excellent result of 8th place out of 51 schools.
Congratulations to Eve Anderson, Keegan Bylsma, Katie Gorvett-Page, Sophia Harpley, Oliver Harvey-Fuelling, Gemma Hogarty, Pippa Mulvany, Will Panozzo and Louis Sherratt who placed first in their respective events and have qualified for the State Championships next term. This is a significant achievement, and we wish these students all the best as they progress.
Year 9 Morrisby Interviews
Year 9 students participated in their Morrisby career interviews with an external consultant, supporting them to identifying strengths, interests and future pathways. Thank you to Ms McCarthy and Ms Grant for coordinating this important program.
Instrumental Music
Our Instrumental Music students have enjoyed recent performance opportunities, including lunchtime concerts and an Ensemble Soiree. These events highlight the talent and commitment of our students and the dedication of our music team. My thanks to Ms Saunders and the team.
Chess Tournament
Students from Years 7–12 competed in a school chess tournament under the direction of Leonid Sandler, International Chess Master and FIDE Trainer. It was a great day of strategy and friendly competition. Congratulations to Robin F (Year 10), who won four of his six games in a strong field.
Term 2 commences on Tuesday 21 April, following a student-free curriculum day on Monday 20 April.
Wishing everyone a safe and enjoyable break. I look forward to building on this strong start in Term 2.
Mr Stephen Bourbon
Principal
