Boarding News
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Last week’s Sports Awards Evening showcased the exceptional talents and dedication of several of our boarders in various sports. It was wonderful to see Jacob O (Hockey), Riley G (Cricket and Cross Country), Maxton F (Football), Aidan L (Football), Hugh M (Football), and Kodie T (Hockey) among the recipients of special recognition.
Our boys demonstrated their hard work and commitment throughout the season. Notably, Maxton F was awarded the prestigious Kampen Memorial Trophy, a testament to his outstanding performance throughout the Football season. Riley G also shone brightly, receiving the Oblate Sport Bowling Award for his achievements in cricket and the St Eugene de Mazenod Sporting Spirit Award.
This award recognizes his leadership, dedication, and commitment as the College Sports Captain, highlighting his role as a wonderful role model for younger students both on and off the field. The effort displayed by all the boys is commendable, and it’s heartening to see their dedication to their chosen sporting fields being recognised. Each of them has contributed significantly to their teams, and their accomplishments are to be commended Congratulations to Jacob, Riley, Maxton, Aiden, Hugh and Kodie for their remarkable achievements!
It was lovely to see a number of Boarding grandparents attend the annual Grandparents Mass and morning tea this week. I know the boys certainly enjoyed having them at the Mass and hosting them at morning tea which followed. Exams and study have been the order of the day for our ATAR Year 12s and it’s been very encouraging to see the focus and dedication that they have applied to their study preparation.
The coming weeks will be a busy time for the Year 11s who go into the work experience and exam period before they conclude the year on November 28 and we wish them all every success.
