From the Rector

Dear Mazenodian Community,

There have been so many Moments of Grace recently experienced at the College that I am sure to miss some of them in this newsletter article. My apologies in advance.

Term 4 brings about so many opportunities for gratitude. We see many of the rituals of graduation with assemblies, morning teas, Boarding Graduation Dinner, Valedictory Mass and Valedictory Dinner being among the highlights. It was indeed a blessing to be able to be present to support these wonderful ceremonies and events.

During this week, we also celebrated a very moving Grandparents Day Mass with 200+ Grand Mazenodians in attendance. The Chapel was full to overflowing and will probably mean that Oblate Hall will need to be used for next year, which has both positives and challenges to it.

Our Sports Awards Evening was a genuine highlight to see just how many God-given talents are present here in the community. That these are shared in teams and effort is of great benefit to both the individual and the school. I thank everyone for their support of co-curricular (sport, music, drama and many others).

A particularly moving Mass was celebrated on Saturday 1 November for our deceased Mazenodian Old Boys where family members, friends and staff gathered together to remember and keep the love alive in our hearts. This Mass was celebrated on All Souls Day which added an extra level of love to the gathering.

November is the month traditionally dedicated to praying for our deceased loved ones and also for those who everyone else may have forgotten. Please offer any prayers you can for the deceased. Jesus promised eternal life to all who believe. I, along with many others, believe the promises of Jesus and I trust his love.

Our Oblate community will keep you, and all of your loved ones in our prayers.

Take Care and God Bless
