Principal's Message

Dear Community,
Thank you for your attendance at the Welcome BBQ on Thursday night. It was lovely to connect more with families and get to know our wonderful community with a BBQ, games and some good music! A big thank you to our staff who attended the evening and notably Barb who organised and coordinated much of the event - cooking, serving and organising set up and pack up! We are very grateful for all who contributed to the evening and we look forward to more opportunities to connect.
Today, our Grade 5/6 students acknowledged Clean Up Australia Day but walking around some of our neighbouring streets, picking up rubbish to support the initiative. They collected a whopping 1.5kg of rubbish! What an amazing effort. Well done Grade 5/6 team for being active and responsible members of our community.
Working Bee - Sunday 1st March
We are asking for any one who is available and keen to help at a small Working Bee on Sunday 1st March to reach out! We have a few jobs that we need support with:
- Soft fall delivery to be transferred to the Junior Playground (BYO wheelbarrows, rakes and shovels if you have them!)
- Any support in the Kitchen Garden which is slightly overgrown!
If you are available to help, please reach out to the office or email admin@smcastlemaine.catholic.edu.au to let us know! We appreciate any support in this.
Bushfire Support
A reminder that we will be hosting an information evening led by clinical psychologist Kate from Castlemaine Community Health on Monday 2nd March between 5:30pm and 7pm. The session will be held in the library. Childcare will be provided in a nearby classroom for those wanting to attend with children. The purpose of the evening is to provide support for those adults and carers impacted by the recent bushfires for our St Mary's families as well as the wider community.
Have a wonderful weekend!
God bless,
Shannon Betham
Acting Principal
