A Message from the Principal

Dear Families and Friends,
Welcome back to Term 4! A special welcome to those families that are joining our community this term. Joining our staff this term are Miss Racheal Anderson (Year 4 teacher), Mrs Stephanie Hamer (English teacher) and Miss Piper Dennis (College Receptionist).
Student Leadership
This term marks a significant milestone in our College’s development. For the first time, we have formally announced our College Leaders for 2026. These senior roles reflect our commitment to developing strong young leaders that will span Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12. These Captains are entrusted with supporting the College’s Catholic values, representing student voice and building community.
I am pleased to introduce the inaugural team to our College community:
College Captains – Gabriel Chase & Krys Marie-Louise
The College Captains will cooperate to inspire and guide the students in our College, working to foster a positive and inclusive school environment. They will embody the values of Peace, Justice and Compassion and will be the student leadership face of the College, representing the student body in various capacities. Their role is pivotal in shaping the culture and spirit of Salvado Catholic College.
Faith and Ministry Captain – Tinaye Mataranyika
The Faith and Ministry Captain will work with the Ministry and Faith Life Coordinator and Religious Education Learning Area Coordinator to enliven the experience of God within our Catholic Community.
House Captains
Each House Captain will work with the Health and Physical Education Learning Area Coordinator and the staff in their House to oversee activities for Feast Days and sporting events. Their role includes building the spirit of their House in the College community and bringing the vision and mission of the House Patron to life.
- MacKillop House – Brian Francis - In the spirit of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop, the Mackillop House Captain will also support the Ministry and Faith Life Coordinator and Faith and Ministry Captain in leading faith and ministry initiatives and activities.

Please join me in congratulating these students on their appointments. I am looking forward to work with them and know that their leadership will contribute meaningfully to the life of the College in the year ahead.
Sacrament of Confirmation
Our Year 6 students have been preparing to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation, which will be celebrated this Sunday at St Francis Xavier Church in Armadale. This is a significant step in their faith journey, and we encourage families to support them by attending Mass at 9.30am. Your presence will be a meaningful way to affirm their commitment and celebrate this milestone with our community.
Invitation to Join the Catholic School Advisory Council
As part of our commitment to partnership with families, I invite parents and caregivers to consider joining our Catholic School Advisory Council. This group plays an important role in supporting the strategic direction of the College and strengthening our connection with the wider community. Further information can be found in this newsletter.
We also encourage all families to attend our Annual Community Meeting, which will be held on Thursday 27th November 2025 in the CAS. This meeting provides an opportunity to hear updates on College initiatives, achievements, and future planning.
As we begin Term 4, I look forward to the learning, growth and celebrations that lie ahead. It is a busy term, so I would encourage families to keep up to date with communication from the College.
God bless!
Ms Giovanna Fiume
College Principal
