On the road to Hadestown

On Wednesday 2 July, the Performing Arts department took 24 enthusiastic students to Melbourne to experience the acclaimed musical Hadestown. This powerful retelling of the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice left a lasting impression on all who attended.

Set in a hauntingly atmospheric world, Hadestown delivered a moody and metaphor-rich performance that lingered in our minds long after the final curtain. At its heart, the musical explores themes of love, loss and the human condition – serving as a mirror to our own fears, desires, struggles and joys.

The emotional impact of the show was unmistakable, with students deeply moved by the masterful blend of storytelling, music and performance. It was a truly unforgettable experience that sparked meaningful reflection and conversation in the days that followed.

Thank you to Mr Scott Weston for organising this wonderful experience.

Work experience | Learning through service

Year 10 students, Hayley Newsham-West and Lucy Pinelli recently completed work experience with the Salvation Army in Hobart, focusing on external communications.

Hayley and Lucy supported daily administrative tasks and gained insight into the organisation's behind-the-scenes operations.

As part of the Salvos' community outreach, they also helped prepare food, developing a valuable understanding of how the team supports people in need.
