Celebration of Confirmation
In the Junior School, we currently have 18 students enrolled in this year's sacramental program. In Term 1, they celebrated the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and since the start of Term 2, they have been preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation through a combination of school-based lessons and family sessions held at the Cathedral Centre.
Confirmation was celebrated during the 10.30am mass at the Cathedral on Sunday 8 June, which was most appropriately, Pentecost Sunday. Our students were confirmed by Archbishop Julian Porteous and blessed by Fathers Bernard Perera and Steven Smith.
After many photo opportunities, the children and their families shared morning tea in the Cathedral Centre.
The students will commence preparation for First Eucharist (Holy Communion) in Term 3 and celebrate this sacrament on Sunday 31 August.

Bollywood beats take centre stage
As Term 2 drew to a close, our Year 6 students had the exciting opportunity to immerse themselves in the vibrant world of traditional and modern Bollywood dance.
Led by Pratik Vhatkar, from Rhythmz Bollywood Dance Studio, the high-energy workshop brought Bollywood dance fever to the Junior School – and our students didn't miss a beat!
Blending rhythm, movement, creativity and cultural appreciation, the workshop beautifully supported the Year 6 exploration of Asia in HaSS and complemented their dance unit in Art.
We're so grateful to Pratik for inspiring our students and showcasing the richness of global cultures through dance!
Update on Year 6 Debating
In their final debate of the season against Fahan School, the College's Year 6 debating team confidently tackled the topic, 'Schools and learning are better without AI', arguing for the negative side.
Emily Yan opened as first speaker with a strong introduction, while Sylvie Gundry followed as a confident second speaker. Sophie Johns concluded as third speaker with a passionate summary and counterpoints.
The team worked together with excellent coordination, critical thinking and persuasive delivery, showcasing how much they’ve grown as debaters throughout the year.

The latest from Year 3 Gumnuts
Students dig deep in Science
During their Science inquiry, students in Year 3 Gumnuts investigated soil from many areas throughout the school, with a particular focus on the ways the soil differs in composition.
The class then created posters addressing the question 'What soil needs to be healthy' to share their findings. Check out some of their clever creations below.
All children should play an instrument
As part of Year 3 Gumnut’s Persuasive Writing Unit, students explored the statement: 'All students should learn a musical instrument'.
They researched the benefits of learning an instrument, identified a target audience to persuade and created posters presenting factual arguments to support their viewpoint.
Students were excited to present their posters to Mrs Heferen-Faulkner during their specialist lesson.
