Harmony Day

Harmony Day is a special occasion dedicated to celebrating inclusivity, respect, and a sense of belonging for all. It serves as a reminder of the rich cultural diversity that strengthens our communities and encourages us to embrace people from all backgrounds. The theme ‘Everyone Belongs’ highlights the importance of unity and acceptance, fostering a society where everyone feels valued.

At St Norbert College, we will be celebrating Harmony Day on Wednesday, March 26. This year marks our twelfth annual Harmony Day celebration, and we take this opportunity to recognize and appreciate the diverse backgrounds that make up our community.

To commemorate this special occasion, the College will host a whole-school liturgical service, a multicultural quiz during homeroom, a national costume parade, multicultural music, and an International Food Feast. Students will also have the chance to take part in a Boomerang dot painting workshop. This activity will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to get in quickly for the opportunity to participate!

Additionally, we are excited to have a stall run by the Sikh community, featuring Turban Tying and interactive information sessions where students and staff can learn more about Sikh traditions, cuisine, and musical instruments.

For lunch, staff and students had the chance to pre-order meals from eleven different cuisines, each offering a variety of menu options. Those who placed an order will receive their meals at lunchtime. The College will cover your lunch cost. If you did not place an order or prefer to bring your own food, you are welcome to do so. Please note that the Café will only be open during recess on this day, but drinks will be available for purchase for $2 outside Student Ministry during lunch.
