Climate Canons

Clean Up Australia Day inspires and mobilises communities to improve and conserve our environment, eliminate litter and end waste. More than 22 million Aussies have participated in Clean Up Australia activities and events over the past three decades and the Climate Canons are proud to be promoting this event and important cause.
The focus is as much on preventing rubbish entering our environment as it is removing what has already accumulated. On Monday 10th March, the Climate Canons hosted a Golden Trash Treasure Hunt, where students had the opportunity to find golden rubbish hidden around the school to win a prize. Students met with Climate Canons to participate in a bingo quiz, answering questions and learning about recycling and waste.
Of course, Australia's environmental challenges can't be solved in just one day, so it is our responsibility to find practical solutions to help us all live more sustainably every day of the year.
Sea Week in Australia in 2025 was from March 1–9. The theme of the campaign was "The ocean makes earth habitable". The campaign aimed to promote ocean literacy and raise awareness of the ocean's role in sustaining life and regulating the climate. The Climate Canons observed this event on Thursday 13th March with a lunchtime fishing activity, challenging the students to a game of skill and knowledge of protecting our beautiful seas. Thank you to all students who got involved.
