Student Voice - Heights Campus
Welcome back to Term 3! We are very excited to kick off another term full of learning, fun and exciting events. We have our whole school swimming program happening in August along with our Book Week Parade! There are some amazing excursions happening this term and we are sure students will be looking forward to these. We are excited to continue achieving our goals, following our school values and having fun at school in Term 3!
In Week 1 and 2 students have been learning about NAIDOC Week. Although NAIDOC Week takes place during the school holidays (5th – 12th July), this year's theme, "50 Years of Deadly," has inspired learning across the school. Students have explored the importance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and traditions while creating their own Deadly Door displays. Every Learning Centre has worked incredibly hard, and it has been wonderful to see the unique creativity and effort that each class has put into their door. Congratulations to all classes for your hard work, dedication and enthusiasm in learning about NAIDOC Week and supporting our Deadly Door event. We can only imagine how difficult it will be for the judges to choose a winning door from each Learning Centre!
The JLC had an amazing opportunity last week when some visitors came to run basketball clinics
The SLC students are about to begin their new round of Interschool Sport. They have finished their winter sports and are now moving on to our summer sports! Students will be participating in Basketball, Volley Stars, Softball or Hot Shots. Every day, they are improving our skills, collaborating as a team and having lots of fun during training. This Friday, we played our first game of the season against Spring Parks PS, and we are excited to kick off what is sure to be an amazing term of sport. Let’s go, Heights Campus!
