A Wonderful Start to Term 3

It has been a wonderful start to Term 3, with students settling back into school routines and engaging positively in their learning.

Although NAIDOC Week fell during the school holidays, it is far too important to miss, so we continued the celebrations at SRPS when students returned. Each year level completed a book and author study featuring a text written by an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander author. At our special NAIDOC Week assembly, students proudly shared what they had learned about the books, authors, cultures, histories and perspectives they explored in class. It was wonderful to see their excitement and enthusiasm.

Classes also took part in our Deadly Doors Competition, decorating their classroom doors to reflect the books they studied. The doors look fantastic, turning our  buildings into an art gallery and highlight the incredible creativity of our students and teachers. Congratulations to everyone involved!

Our Foundation students also celebrated their 100th day of school. This special event, marked on our school calendar each year, gives us an opportunity to recognise how much our youngest students have learned and grown since beginning school. It was lovely to celebrate their achievements, growing confidence and the wonderful friendships they have formed.

Finally, a heartfelt thank you to all the parents and carers who attended the Heights Campus Annual Report to the School Community meeting on Friday morning. The turnout was outstanding, and it was wonderful to see so many families taking an active interest in our school.

We greatly value the strong partnership we share with our community and appreciate your commitment to learning more about our achievements, progress and priorities. The meeting provided an opportunity to celebrate our successes in 2025, reflect on the work we have undertaken together, and showcase the programs and practices that support student learning and wellbeing at Springvale Rise Primary School.
