A very warm welcome back to all our students, families and staff as we begin Term 3. We hope everyone had the opportunity to enjoy a restful break, spend time with family and friends and recharge for another exciting term of learning.
Although winter has certainly made its presence felt, our classrooms have quickly come alive with enthusiasm, curiosity and a strong focus on learning. It has been wonderful to see smiling faces back at school, reconnecting with friends and settling into new learning experiences. We have another busy term ahead, filled with engaging learning opportunities, celebrations and special events.
Last week we proudly celebrated NAIDOC Week, an important opportunity to recognise and celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Students participated in a range of learning experiences throughout the week, deepening their understanding of First Nations cultures and the importance of respect, connection and community. A highlight of the week was our whole-school NAIDOC Week Assembly, where students came together to share their learning, reflect on this year's theme and celebrate the rich histories and cultures of Australia's First Nations peoples.
Another exciting part of our celebrations has been the Deadly Doors Competition, with classrooms transforming their doors into creative displays inspired by NAIDOC Week. The creativity, teamwork and pride shown by our students and staff have been outstanding. We look forward to announcing the winning classrooms in our next newsletter.
This week, our Foundation students reached a very special milestone as they celebrated 100 Days of School! It was wonderful to see our youngest learners take part in fun learning activities and reflecting on just how much they have grown since starting school. In only 100 days, our Foundation students have developed new friendships, built confidence and made incredible progress in their learning. We are so proud of everything they have achieved and congratulate them on this exciting milestone.
We look forward to another fantastic term of learning, growth and fun together.
Mrs. Mirela Karup
