100 Days of School
We had a wonderful time celebrating 100 Days of School! The children looked fantastic in their creative outfits and really embraced the spirit of the day. We enjoyed imagining how we would spend $100, and brainstorming 100 reasons why we love school. It was a day filled with fun, laughter and lots of exciting learning activities to mark this special milestone.
In the Classroom
Mathematics We have recently completed our unit on Addition and Subtraction and have now begun exploring length, mass and capacity through informal measurement activities. The children are enjoying making comparisons and using everyday language to describe their observations.
Literacy
We are coming to the end of learning the alphabet and have started exploring digraphs. Ask your child, "What is a digraph?" Hopefully they'll be able to tell you that a digraph is when two letters work together to make one sound! So far, we have learned sh, ch, ee, ll, zz, ff and ss, and we've also discovered that the letter q is almost always followed by u.

📚 Book Week Dress-Up Day
Our Book Week Dress-Up Day will be held on Tuesday, 20 August.
Students are invited to come dressed as a character from their favourite book. We can't wait to see everyone's wonderful costumes and celebrate our love of reading together!
🐭 Maggie Mouse's Birthday Surprise!
To celebrate learning all of our letters, we're throwing Maggie Mouse a Surprise Birthday Party on Wednesday, 2 September!
Students are invited to come dressed as one of our Letter Characters. If you're looking for some costume inspiration, we've included a printout of all our Letter Characters in your child's reading folder. We can't wait to see everyone's creative costumes!
We also ask that each child brings a small plate of party food to share as we celebrate this exciting milestone together.
